Already have a quote? Get the honest read before you sign.
Bring the other roofer's estimate. We inspect the roof, grade it, and go through their quote line by line: what's real, what's padding, what's missing and what it should cost. In writing. If their quote is good, we'll say so.
Mammoth roof · Belton, TexasThe five things that make a roofing quote bad.
Missing items
No ice-and-water, no ventilation, no decking allowance. The cheap quote is usually missing the parts that stop leaks.
Wrong measurements
A roof measured from the street. We measure it, and the squares on our read match the squares on theirs, or they don't.
Vague products
"30-year shingle" is not a product. Every material should be named with its tier, rating and warranty.
Deposits and deductibles
A large deposit before materials arrive, or any offer to cover your deductible, is the quote telling you who you're dealing with.
No inspection
If nobody went in the attic, nobody knows what the roof needs. The quote is a guess with a signature line.
Thirty minutes on the roof, ten at the table.
- We grade the roof exactly as we would for any homeowner: attic, slopes, photos, report.
- We read their quote against the roof we just measured and write down the differences.
- You get both the Roof Grade and the written read, whatever you decide.
- If they're good we tell you to hire them. That happens, and it's fine.

Straight answers.
Ask your local teamIs it really free, even if I go with the other roofer?
Yes. The Roof Grade is free for everyone, and the read on their quote is part of the visit.
Will you just undercut them?
We'll quote what the roof needs at our price, with every line shown. Sometimes that's lower; sometimes it's higher because theirs left things out. You'll see exactly why.
Can you check a quote after a storm?
Especially then. Storm quotes are where the missing items and the deductible offers live.
