# The Mammoth Two Tusk Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Mammoth Roofing & Exteriors · https://mammothroofs.com/warranty/ · (210) 934-9074

Two layers of protection on every full replacement: Mammoth's 10-year workmanship warranty on the installation, and the manufacturer's limited lifetime material warranty on the roofing materials. In writing, with terms you can actually read.

## What the warranty says, in plain English.

- **What's covered**: Defects caused by our workmanship on a full Mammoth roof replacement, in the flashings, the nailing, the underlayment or the ventilation components we installed. A defect in the materials themselves is the manufacturer's to cover.

- **Ten years, from Mammoth**: For ten years, we repair covered workmanship defects at our expense, including the labor and materials the repair reasonably needs.

- **Limited lifetime, from the manufacturer**: The roofing materials carry the manufacturer's limited lifetime material warranty. Lifetime means the life of that product. Limited means the coverage is prorated: full in the early years, then a declining share on the manufacturer's schedule. Its exclusions and transfer rules are set by the manufacturer's written warranty, not by us.

- **Transfer on sale**: Our workmanship warranty transfers to the next owner once during its ten years, with written notice to us. The manufacturer's warranty transfers on its own terms.

- **What it excludes**: Damage from hail, lightning, flood, named storms or wind above the manufacturer's rated speed; work by other trades on the roof, satellite dishes and other equipment mounts included; structural movement; blocked gutters or drains. If damage like this makes the roof leak, the warranty ends unless we repair it, at the owner's cost.

- **How to claim**: Call (888) 48-ROOFS or use the form. We inspect promptly, give you a written finding and schedule the repair. No fee to look.

## The warranty is the installation system, written down.

A roof fails at the details: the boots, the flashings, the valleys, the nails, the attic. The Monumental Installation System puts Igloo Shield™ at every eave and valley, Pelt Felt™ over the whole deck, six Stamp-Tight Nails® (ring-shank) per shingle, the Double Tusk™ Pipe Flashing System and sized ventilation on every roof, and the 26-point QualCheck proves it before the crew leaves.

A warranty is only as good as the roof underneath it and the company standing behind it. That is why the installation comes first, and why we put ten years of workmanship coverage in writing. The document is one page, front and back, and you get it on build day.

## Four kinds of warranty, and which one the salesperson means.

Every roofer says "warranty". These are the four documents behind the word, and they cover different things for different lengths of time.

- **[Manufacturer material warranty](https://mammothroofs.com/guides/roofing-warranties-explained/)** (The full guide): Covers manufacturing defects in the shingle or panel, usually non-prorated for the first years and prorated after. It excludes installation errors, which is where most roofs fail. On a Mammoth roof, this is the limited lifetime layer.

- **[Enhanced manufacturer warranty](https://mammothroofs.com/guides/roofing-warranties-explained/)** (The full guide): Adds the manufacturer's own workmanship cover and longer non-prorated terms. Available only when a credentialed contractor installs the manufacturer's complete system and registers the roof on time.

- **[Workmanship warranty](https://mammothroofs.com/guides/roofing-warranties-explained/)** (The full guide): The contractor's promise on the installation: flashings, nailing, underlayment, ventilation components. The one that matters most in the first ten years, and worth exactly as much as the company behind it. Ours runs ten years.

- **[Properly registered](https://mammothroofs.com/guides/roofing-warranties-explained/)** (The full guide): An enhanced warranty exists only once the roof is filed with the manufacturer and a certificate is issued. Ask for the certificate; a contractor who cannot produce it sold you the brochure.

## What a "50-year warranty" actually covers.

A "50-year" or "lifetime" warranty is almost always the manufacturer's material warranty. It is worth having, and on a Mammoth roof it is one of the two layers. The other layer, the workmanship warranty, covers something different. Here is what each one does.

| Warranty detail | The manufacturer's material warranty | Mammoth's workmanship warranty |
| --- | --- | --- |
| What it covers | Defects in the roofing material itself | Defects that come from how the roof was installed: flashings, nailing, underlayment, ventilation components |
| Who gives it | The manufacturer, on its written terms | Mammoth, in writing, on build day |
| How long | Set by the manufacturer: often 50 years or "limited lifetime" | Ten years |
| What a claim pays for | The material, in full for the first years (typically 5–15, product by product), then a shrinking share each year | The labor and materials the repair reasonably needs, for all ten years |
| Labor to fix it | Usually excluded once the first years are over | Included |
| What it excludes | Installation errors, inadequate ventilation, wind above the rating | Material defects, storm damage, work by other trades, structural movement |

_A warranty is only as good as the roof underneath it and the company standing behind it. The manufacturer's terms are quoted per product on your paperwork; read both documents before you sign._

## The Perfect Project system: the crew does not grade its own homework.

We sign our name to ten years of workmanship because every roof is built against a written standard and inspected by someone who did not build it. This is the system behind the signature.

- **The Perfect Project folder**: One file per roof: the Roof Grade report, the signed scope, the materials list, the manufacturer's requirements for the products on the roof, the permit and the HOA approval.

- **The production checklist**: The Monumental Installation System as a checklist the production manager works through on build day, from SafeSite protection to the last ridge cap.

- **Inspection photographs**: Before, during and after: the deck exposed, the underlayment down, the flashings set, the finished roof. Yours to keep, and the evidence behind any future claim.

- **QualCheck™**: The 26-point post-installation inspection, point by point, with a photograph of each. SweepCheck for nails follows it.

- **Project manager oversight**: A production manager owns the job from materials to clean-up and signs the QualCheck. Not the crew leader; the person who checks the crew.

- **Manufacturer requirements**: The checklist carries the manufacturer's installation and system requirements for the product on the roof, so the manufacturer's warranty stands and, where the system qualifies, the enhanced registration is filed.

## Straight answers.

### Is the warranty transferable if I sell?

Yes. Our workmanship warranty can be transferred once during its ten years, with written notice to us, so tell the office when you list the house. The manufacturer's material warranty transfers on the manufacturer's own terms.

### Does a repair carry the Two Tusk warranty?

Repairs carry a written workmanship warranty on the invoice. The Mammoth Two Tusk Limited Lifetime Warranty applies to full replacements.

### What about the manufacturer's warranty?

It is the second layer of the Two Tusk warranty: the manufacturer's limited lifetime material warranty, which covers defects in the roofing materials themselves. Its length, proration, exclusions and transfer rules are the manufacturer's, quoted per product on your paperwork. We don't print the manufacturer's terms on this site; we print ours.

### What if someone else works on the roof later?

Tell us first. Our workmanship warranty does not cover leaks caused by other trades or by new roof penetrations, and equipment mounts (satellite dishes, HVAC stands, anything bolted through the roof) are both. If damage like that makes the roof leak, the warranty ends unless we repair it, at your cost.

### Do you register the manufacturer's warranty?

Yes, as part of closing the job, where the product and the system qualify for an enhanced warranty. The registration certificate goes in your folder with the Two Tusk document and the QualCheck photographs.

### Another roofer offered a 50-year warranty. Is that better?

A warranty is only as good as the roof underneath it and the company standing behind it. A "50-year" warranty is usually the manufacturer's material warranty: it covers defects in the product, it is prorated after the first years, and labor is usually excluded once those years are over. A workmanship warranty covers something different: the way the roof was installed. A Mammoth roof carries both layers, our 10-year workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's limited lifetime material warranty. When you compare offers, ask which layer each number belongs to.
